FORME is fourteen-hundred square feet on the south end of Abbot Kinney. Ten Megaformer M3X machines, one wall of north-facing windows, a single piece of art on the back wall, no mirrors anywhere. Built in 2024 by Naomi Ortega and her three closest training partners. The studio it would be a pleasure to leave a class in.
FORME was opened in March of 2024 by Naomi Ortega, the studio's founder, and the three instructors who'd taught with her at six other studios across Los Angeles. The thesis was small: a Lagree studio at the slowest tempo any of them had ever taught, with no membership tier above three-a-week, and no class size above ten.
The lease on Abbot Kinney was the only address everyone agreed on. The room is shaped like a sentence. The light is best at eight in the morning and again at five-thirty in the afternoon. The studio runs on those two hours.
Naomi will probably ask about your foot position before she asks about your day, and that is not a personality — it is, in fact, the founding document of the studio.
Every class is taught by Naomi, Iris, June, or Rosa. If one of us is sick, the class is canceled, not handed off.
Sebastien Lagree Master Trainer. Twelve years coaching. Teaches at six and seven AM weekdays.
Background in ballet and rehab Pilates. Specializes in Sculpt and pre/postnatal programming.
Sports-science MSc. Coaches Core & Arms and most of the lunchtime Express slots.
The only instructor allowed to teach Foundations. Every first-timer's first coach.
No exceptions. Not for press, not for friends, not for the founder's mother. Ten machines is ten machines.
If we can't cover a class, we cancel it. We will never sub in a stranger to your hour.
Felt sense, not visual feedback. The carriage tells you what's true; the mirror tells you what's flattering.
Curated by the instructor teaching the most that week. Low volume, deliberately. The class is the music.
